UNIVERSITY OF WARMIA AND MAZURY IN OLSZTYN

The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn was established on September 1, 1999 (Journal of Laws No. 69 of August 20, 1999, item 762). The University combines a 50-year tradition of the University of Agriculture and Technology, a 30-year tradition of the Higher Teacher Education School and a 450-year tradition of theological education in Warmia.
The University employs over 2 950 persons, including 1 830 academic teachers, of which 217 hold the title of professor and 250 - the postdoctoral degree (doctor habilitated). 14 faculties provide education to over 40 000 students, including 26 560 full-time students, 13 469 part-time students, 526 doctoral students and 3 100 postgraduate students.
The students are offered the possibility to acquire extensive knowledge in the following fields: Liberal Arts, Pedagogy, Theology, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Technology, Biology, Economy and Mathematics. They can choose from among 39 or 31 majors in the system of full-time and part-time studies respectively. More than 4 000 full-time students and 2 500 part-time students graduate from the University each year.
