    Summary:

    The games of Manuela. The motif of feminity in the works of Manuela Gretkowska Manuela Gretkowska is one of the best-known writing women of the Polish literature which has been created after 1989. She has written eleven novels so far, from her first debut My zdies emigranty [We Are Emigrants Here] to the last diary Obywatelka [A Citizan]. In each of them she shams with her readers and the basis of this game is the literary output of Witold Gombrowicz, mainly his Dziennik [Diary]. In her narrations Gretkowska creates the portrait of an independent and free narrator. Her next creations build an image of personality where the femininity is essential to form the wholeness. The author constructs her own, unique world of values, first as a young experimenting girl, emigrant, painter, lover of tarot and later as a mature wife and mother.
