Dr. habil. Denis Solodov, Professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn

 

Dr. habil. Denis Solodov, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration, has been working at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn since January 2011. He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications in Polish, Russian, and English, including several forensic commentaries on the Russian Criminal Code (CC) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CPC). Between 2000 and 2011, he worked at the Faculty of Law of Voronezh State University (Russia), where he combined academic teaching with legal practice, participating in criminal, civil, and administrative cases as well as in proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In 2010, he obtained the academic title of Docent in the Department of Criminalistics, awarded by the State Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) under the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. 

He completed his habilitation in 2013 at the Faculty of Law, University of Białystok, with the dissertation: „Ocena dowodów naukowych w systemie kryminalistyki rosyjskiej” (Evaluation of Scientific Evidence in the System of Russian Criminalistics). In 2014, Professor Solodov received the Professor Brunon Hołyst Award for the Best Scientific Work in Criminalistics. Since 2011, he has been a member of the Polish Forensic Science Society, and since December 2022, he has served as President of the Warmian-Masurian Branch of the Polish Forensic Science Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Kryminalistyczne). He has supervised four PhD dissertations and acted as a reviewer in seven doctoral proceedings. He is the supervisor of the Student Forensic Science Research Club "Na tropie" (since June 2011, with rebranding in November 2025).

PhD in Legal Sciences, awarded on 1 July 2003 by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation, based on the dissertation “Procedural and Tactical Decisions of the Investigator: Essence and Problems of Decision Optimization”, defended at the Faculty of Law, Voronezh State University, Voronezh, Russia (2003).

  2. Academic title of “Docent in the Department of Criminalistics”, awarded on 17 March 2010 by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

  3. Habilitation (Doctor habilitatus) in Law, specialization: Forensic Science, awarded on 15 November 2013 by the Faculty of Law, University of Białystok.

    Agreement for the implementation and financing of the project concluded on 8 November 2018 between NCBR (Polish National Centre for Research and Development) and the consortium including the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Project duration: 8 March 2019 – 30 June 2020.
