dr Alicja Tupieka-Buszmak
Graduate of the Primary and Secondary State Music School in Olsztyn in the vocal class (1989), of MA studies - Musical Education in Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiczna in Olsztyn (1994), Carl Orff's Musical Education Study in the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (1996), Vocal Emission Post-Graduate Studies in the F. Nowowiejski University of Music in Bydgoszcz (1996), PhD in humanities with specialty in pedagogy based on the defense of the PhD "Drama and the development of children's literary imagination" (promoter: prof. dr hab. Józef Górniewicz) at the Department of Social Sciences and Art at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (2004).
Scientific activity:
Scientific interests associated with the issues of education, interactive and effective teaching methods, interdisciplinary research into artistic education and phenomena in the area of sociology of music and the process of social communication in arts. In the years 1998-2012 - active member of 30 scientific and methodological conferences and specialist training workshops at the regional, national and international levels. Author or 28 scientific publications, including the co-editor of the monograph entitled "Institute of Music from the perspective of 40 years". Publishing House: CBS UWM, Olsztyn 2011 (2nd editor - T. Niedźwiedź) and a member of the editorial team of the monograph entitled "60 years of activities of student scientific groups" under the management of A. Jarczyk. Publishing House: Wydawnictwo UWM, Olsztyn 2011. Director of the original research project entitled "Interactive behaviours in group music making and alternative forms of vocal expression" (2006-2010).
Didactic and organizational activity:
- Preparation of original programmes and conducting lectures in the following subjects of academic education: "Vocal emission", "Methodology of group singing", "Methodology of school concerts", "Pedagogy with musical pedagogy", "Pedagogy", "Methodology of music groups", "Organization of the work of music groups", "Seminar on music lectures and criticism", "Music in integrated education", "Activating forms of contacts with music", "Social communication and organization of events", "Vocal chamber music", "Specialist music literature", "Graduate seminar", "Midyear methodological subject teaching practice", "Continuous pedagogical practice", "Methodology of the subject of knowledge of culture", "Methodology of the subject of music" as well as the elective classes for the students of the medical studies of the Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn: "The role of music in therapy and medicine", "Music workshops", and "Artistic classes in primary education" for the students of pedagogical studies of the Department of Social Sciences and Art of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
- Author of projects and manager of III forms of Post-Graduate Studies, including the director of the Post-Graduate Studies in Musical Education, conducted at the request of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education from the resources of the European Social Fund and the state budget (2007-2008).
- Founder and patron of the "Discussion Forum of Music Pedagogues" scientific group. Initiator and organizer of didactic trips, artistic and popular science events, including of the Inter-Discipline Festival of the Works of Frederic Chopin - Chopinada 2010. Many-time co-producer and member of the programme committee of the Olsztyn Days of Science and Art and of the European Night of Scientists (since 2009).
- Reviewer of the music course book for lower secondary schools entitled "Closer to the music" written by M. Przychodzińska and B. Smoleńska-Zielińska for the all-Polish Magazine for Teachers entitled "Musical Education at School" in 2009.
Voluntary service:
- Conducting the concerts for popularizing musical culture in the academic circles, among the residents of the Social Service Home in Barczewo and a series of lectures entitled "On first name terms with the University" for the youth from the City of Orneta (2006-2007);
- Conducting university anniversary concerts and a cycle of school concerts entitled "People - Music - Time" and "Freedom - Music - Democracy" for the patients of the Province Children's Hospital in Olsztyn (2005-2011);
- Conducting and preparing the students to execute musical educational programmes in the Special Books Division, Youth Literature Division of the Province Public Library in Olsztyn, and in the ABECADŁO Children's Literature Division of the City Public Library in Olsztyn (since 2011);
- Preparing and heading the artistic workshops for the students of the Children's University (since 2012);
Positions held and tasks:
- the Director of an internal organizational unit - Musical Pedagogy Facility of the Musical Institute of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (2005-2009);
- the Province Coordinator of the all-Polish Research Project entitled "Musical education in Poland. State, conditions, desired areas to change" under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education, conducted by the Artistic Department of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (2006-2007);
- a Member of the Board of the Arts Department and the representative of the Dean of the Arts Department for Scientific Groups (2008-2012 and 2012-2016 terms);
- a Representative of the Arts Department in the Senate Statutory Commission (2008-2012 term) and a member of the Departmental Competition Commission (2012-2016 term).
Membership in organizations and associations:
- Since 1994 - member of the Polish Carl Orff Association and member of the Polish Teachers' Association, since 2009 - member of the Music Teachers' Association, since 2010 -member of the Task-Oriented PhD Team at the Committee of Pedagogy Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Awards and distinctions:
2006 - Award from the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn for scientific achievements;
2006 - Golden Badge of the Main Management Board of the Council of Higher Education and Science of the Polish Teachers' Association;
2008 - Scientific scholarship awarded by the Prorector for Science of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn;
2010 - Award from the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn for scientific achievements;
2012 -Award from the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn for scientific achievements.
