Internetowa edycja „Civitas et Lex”  jest wersją pierwotną w stosunku do wydania książkowego. Teksty są archiwizowane na na Platformie Czasopism UWM – „Civitas et Lex” (https://czasopisma.uwm.edu.pl/index.php/cel) oraz na stronie internetowej czasopisma (http://www.uwm.edu.pl/elk/publikacje/). Platformae Czasopism UWM wykorzystuje protokół OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) do eksportu metadanych oraz  zapewnia czasopismom: upowszechnianie w otwartym dostępie i długotrwałe  przechowywanie; opis metadanymi dokumentu zgodny ze standardem metadanych Dublin Cor; możliwość bezstratnego przesyłania i upowszechniania  plików zapisanych  w  różnych formatach, pojedynczych i w zbiorach; możliwość przechowywania danych badawczych w postaci pojedynczych plików bądź zbiorów; możliwość wskazania alternatywnej lokalizacji dokumentu  poprzez adres URI, ISSN czy DOI; możliwość wykorzystania mechanizmów Open Access Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), co pozwala na integrację z wyszukiwarkami i bazami danych; możliwość śledzenia statystyk dotyczących zdeponowanych dokumentów.

  The internet edition of Civitas et Lex  is primary to the paper one. The texts are archived on the UWM Journal Platform – Civitas et Lex (https://czasopisma.uwm.edu.pl/index.php/cel) and on the journal’s website (http://www.uwm.edu.pl/elk /publications/). The UWM Journals Platform uses the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) to export metadata and provides journals with: open access dissemination and long-term storage; document metadata description compliant with Dublin Cor metadata standard; the possibility of lossless transfer and dissemination of files saved in various formats, single and in sets; the possibility of storing research data in the form of individual files or collections; possibility to indicate an alternative document location via URI, ISSN or DOI address; the possibility of using the mechanisms of the Open Access Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), which allows for integration with search engines and databases; the ability to track statistics on deposited documents.
