I/ITSEC 2019 Conference in Orlando
The Interservice/ Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), as the world's largest modeling, simulation and training event was held on 02-06 December in Orlando, Florida. Two persons from Elk Branch Campus participated, and also at the annual ADL Global Partnership Network meeting. I/ITSEC consisted of peer-reviewed paper presentations, tutorials, special events, professional workshops, a commercial exhibit hall, a serious games competition.
On Wednesday, 4 December, the first-of-its-kind discussion took place within I/ITSEC. Topic "IMAGINE 2030. AI-Empowered learning". It was a debate where panelists (four humans and one artificially intelligent bot) were asked to imagine what learning will look like in 2030). Anyway, it was stated AI would have a dramatic impact on the future of learning. It needs to be carefully studied. On Thursday, 5 December, the AI issues were also raised - during the event "Modernizing learning. Building the Future Learning Ecosystem", which was focused on the book (the same title) issued by the US Government programs with external contributors. Due to the importance and impact of this book, as far as building ADL capacity process is concerned, also encompassing AI points, the idea is to translate the book into i.e. Ukrainian and other languages of NATO DEEP partner countries.
