NATO conference in Norfolk (VA)
On 11-13 June 2019 in Norfolk, the first NATO Training Technology Conference (NTTC) took place. The organizer of the event was the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT). Over 80 people took part, including Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek (NATO DEEP ADL Portal Coordinator) and Artur Starosz (NATO DEEP ADL Portal Administrator). The conference topics focused mainly on innovative technologies and solutions within training and education. During the series of lectures and presentations the issue of formal teaching was raised. The importance of Learning Record Store (LRS) was strongly emphasized as a place for storing documentation, both formal and informal. The essence of LRS, and the related new e-learning standard xAPI (Experience API), relates to documenting all forms of online activity and saving them. On the second day of the conference, Piotr Gawliczek delivered the presentation on "Modernization and reform of military education institutions in NATO partner countries”.
