In the year 2007 our Choir celebrated its 55th anniversary. It was founded by Prof. Wiktor Wawrzyczek at the Higher School of Agriculture in Olsztyn, as an Academic Choir.
At present it is known as the Choir of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
During over fifty five years of its artistic activity, the Choir gave about 1600 concerts.
Over these years almost 1000 signers were its members. An audience of more than 300,000 gathered at our concerts, not to mention those who listened to them on the radio or bought our CDs.
The Choir has visited almost all European countries (England, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria,
the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Romania, Slovakia,
Hungary), some of them many times (France, Spain, Germany, Vatican, Italy). We have
also had concerts in North America (Mexico) and South America (the Argentina). If we
were to go on our concert tour once again, the travel would take us almost half a year,
day and night (at 80 kph), as we would have to cover a total of about 350 000 km.
mgr Boguslaw Palinski has been choirmaster and conductor since 2009;
mgr Eaw Alchimowicz-Wójcik is a specialist on voice emission.
