For over fifty years of its existence, the Choir established and preserved many traditions.
At the beginning of each academic year we give an opening party, to welcome new singers.
In November we meet on the St. Andrew?s eve, to cast horoscopes and play fortune telling games.
For 22 years, each December, the singers have gathered at the table
for Christmas Eve Supper. These are extraordinary meetings, attended by almost 2000
present and former Choir members, their families, special guests, University authorities,
and friends. This is one of two such occasions in the year, when singers come with their
families even from the farthest places, to break the wafer, exchange good wishes and
sing to praise the Lord.
A Great Fancy-Dress Ball is organized each year in January - everybody has a chance
to use their imagination and choose some original costume... Since the year 2000 a Carnival Ball for Old Boys (former Choir singers) has also been held in January.
Our traditional summer camps changed in the year 2001 into
meetings of present and former Choir members and their
families, organized on one of the weekends in June, at a
vacation center near Olsztyn. The special atmosphere,
enhanced by the closeness of woods and lakes, is conducive to singing, chatting, and
having great fun.
In 1999 we started another beautiful tradition. All Choir members join to celebrate the end of each artistic season by performing a vocal and instrumental piece. In 1999 it was the Ninth Symphony by L. van Beethoven, in 2000 - ?Ludzmierz Vespers?, by J. K. Pawlu?kiewicz, in 2001 ? ?Coronation Mass? by W. A. Mozart, in 2002 - ?Dettingen Te Deum? by G. F. Haendel, and in 2003 ? ?Missa Angelica? by J. ?wider.
All signers who would like to appear in front of the audience again, and ?refresh? their voices, are welcome!
