MERCURY CHARACTERISTICS APPLICATION OF MERCURY ANALYZERS DEFINITIONS

Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS)

This method for mercury determination is called as a "Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption Spectrometry" (CVAAS). This method is extremely sensitive and has been used successfuly for many years.

Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry (AFS)

This method for mercury determination is called as a "Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry" (CVAFS). This method is low in interference and requires neither an amalgamation step nor expensive noble gases and carriers but has lower detection limit than AAS.
