Article focuses on the issue of the reception of contemporary art and the problems that the art causes to many people after having a contact with it. The aim of the article was to determine the difficulties occurring in contact with contemporary art both due to recipient’s reasons and the nature of modern art. The definition and analysis of the problem are based on studies and interpretation of the content inserted on the websites and the commenter's reaction. In the last part of the article the results of a survey conducted on the needs of work were discussed. Issues concerning contemporary art is a current theme that demands taking certain actions that will contribute to the elimination of barriers between the recipient and the work of art. The distance is made primarily because of insufficient artistic education.
