W dniach 25-26 października br. pracownicy Instytutu Nauk Politycznych UWM: dr hab. Marcin Chełminiak, dr Wojciech Kotowicz oraz dr Krzysztof Żęgota uczestniczyli w międzynarodowej konferencji naukowej "Russia's Choices for 2030" organizowanej przez Uniwersytet w Helsinkach.

Konferencja zgromadziła kilkuset naukowców m.in. z Finlandii, Rosji, Szwecji, Niemiec, Wielkiej Brytanii i Polski. Pracownicy INP wystąpili z referatami w ramach paneli "Developments in the Kaliningrad and their Significance in the Baltic Sea Region" oraz "Russia and Europe".

Prof. Dariusz Kozerawski (the head of the Department of Threats and Security Policies, the Institute of Political Science, the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn) in days 26-27 October 2017 participated in the international scientific conference - Possible approaches to education and training of military and political elites - organized by the by the Chair of Social Sciences of Academy of Armed Forces them. Gen. M. R. Stefanika in Liptowsky Mikulaš (Slovakia), with participation: Police Academy in Bratislava, Pedagogical University of Krakow, University of Wroclaw, College of Public and Individual Security in Krakow, Police Academy in Szczytno.

Prof. Dariusz Kozerawski gave the paper on the topic: The military elites′ education on strategic level in National Defence University in Warsaw, enriched with the Power-Point presentation. Moreover he was a chairman of the plenary scientific session. In that prestige conference the explorers and experts took part from centers and academic institutions connected with the problems of the international security from Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Ukraine.

The international conference entitled "The First Mkwawa International Conference on Development in East Africa: Conditioning, Aspects and Effects" took place in Iringa city in the United Republic of Tanzania on October 2nd-4th, 2017, which was co-organized by the Institute of Political Science of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and the Mkwawa University College of Education.

This conference was attended by two representatives of our university, Full Professor Arkadiusz Żukowski and Associate Professor Degefe Kebede Gemechu. The conference was organized under the cooperation agreement between both universities which was signed this year. The conference brought together around 200 scientists, representatives of various disciplines from 15 countries around the world.

Prof. A. Żukowski delivered a paper entitled “Sub-Saharan African borderlands – regions of cooperation or regions of hostility? Towards new approach to the development of Africa” as well as he conducted a plenary session. Whereas Prof. D. K. Gemechu gave presentation on the subject “The Impact of Intrastate and Interstate Conflicts on the Development of Regional Integration Process: The Case of East African Community (EAC)”.

The presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and other representatives of the Tanzanian Government and the representative of the consulate of Republic of Poland in Tanzania increased the significance of the conference. The papers presented at the conference will be published in three volumes and Professors A. Żukowski and D. K. Gemechu will be co-editors of them.

The coordinators of scientific cooperation Professors A. Żukowski and D. K. Gemechu have conducted important talks with the authorities of the Mkwawa University College of Education. The talks were held between the Rector of this university Professor Bernadeta Killian, then with Dr. Evaristo Haulle, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Both sides agreed to continue their close cooperation with the aim of identifying directions for the future, which include among others: in the area of exchange of experience and scientific staff on the basis of existing agreements between their universities, including joint research grants and publications. They also discussed exchanges of students. Also the fruitful talks were conducted by Prof. A. Żukowski with Dr. Augustine P. Mahinga, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, on theory and practice of cross-border cooperation.

On September 30th, 2017, talks were held between the Director of the Institute of Political Science of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Prof. Arkadiusz Żukowski and Prof. Idris A. Rai, the Rector of the State University of Zanzibar. In this meeting Associate Prof. Degefe Kebede Gemechu also participated.

The main subject of the talks was the establishment of new contacts and scientific cooperation of bilateral agreements. After they had a specific discussion on this issue, both sides fully expressed their willingness to cooperate. Prof. A. Żukowski presented a preliminary text of the agreement, which after an analysis by the Zanzibar party, would become the final text of the cooperation agreement. The two sides also talked about the various areas of cooperation and defining their further plan of action, confirming the close contacts in the near future.

Studia Podyplomowe „Wiedza o społeczeństwie i edukacja europejska”

Studia Podyplomowe „Wiedza o społeczeństwie i edukacja europejska” są studiami kwalifikacyjnymi dającymi uprawnienia do nauczania kolejnego przedmiotu na wszystkich poziomach edukacyjnych (pod warunkiem posiadania kwalifikacji pedagogicznych). Przeznaczone są dla absolwentów studiów magisterskich na kierunkach nauczycielskich, zainteresowanych uzyskaniem uprawnień do nauczania przedmiotu wiedza o społeczeństwie oraz dla osób posiadających uprawnienia do nauczania, które zainteresowane są podniesieniem swoich kwalifikacji zawodowych.

Program studiów opracowany został zgodnie z rozporządzeniem Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego z 17 stycznia 2012 r. w sprawie standardów kształcenia przygotowującego do wykonywania zawodu nauczyciela i uwzględnia aktualnie obowiązujące podstawy programowe przedmiotu wiedza o społeczeństwie (szkoła podstawowa i ponadpodstawowa).

Studia trwają trzy semestry. Realizowane są w systemie zjazdowym niestacjonarnym, w soboty i niedziele. Łącznie obejmują 350 godz. wykładów i konwersatoriów oraz 60 godz. praktyki. Odpłatność za studia: 2400 zł - płatne w trzech ratach, przed rozpoczęciem każdego semestru.

Termin rozpoczęcia: po zebraniu grupy.

Minimalna liczba słuchaczy – 20 osób.
