Scientific activity of The Institute of Music
The Institute of Music carries out research related to the activities of the individual Departments: questions of widely understood music education, teaching methodology, performing music in ensembles, methodology of teaching to play instruments and to interpret music, as well as musical culture of Warmia and Mazury.
The scientific achievements of the staff of the Institute of Music include the following forms of activity:
- non-serial and edited publication, articles in collective studies,
- Participating in local, nationwide and international scientific conferences and sessions,
- achieving subsequent scientific degrees and titles,
- functions of promoters and reviewers in doctoral dissertations,
- functions of reviewers in higher doctoral dissertations and procedures of awarding the title of professor of music arts.
The Institute of Music also pursues a research project, planned for the years 2010 – 2015:
Artistic and Scientific Activity of the Institute of Music in the Popularisation of Olsztyn and the Warmia and Mazury Region.
In addition to concerts of staff and students in Olsztyn and its region, it is envisaged to extend the scope of influence of these presentations through international co-operation (Russia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Croatia) in the form of artistic and scientific exchange (seminars and music workshops dedicated to music performing issues and promotion of musical culture of particular countries and regions).
The World of Sounds is a new project consisting of open lectures connected with recitals and concerts performed by the staff of the Institute of Music.
The launch of a new music project entitled Following the Traces of Feliks Nowowiejski in aimed at involving musicians (conductors, singers and instrumentalists) and music ensembles connected with the Institute of Music in the work on the elaboration and dissemination of the creative work of the outstanding composer from Warmia.
