The Rector's Student Grant is an initiative supporting students scientific associations operating at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn in their chosen research and artistic or educational activities.

The Rector's Student Grant was awarded for the sixth time. Applications were assessed by experts in terms of, among others: innovativeness of the idea, value of the project's goals and impact on the environment, results.

The Committee qualified for funding:
1. Inter-Faculty Medical Biochemistry Students Scientific Association– "Polymorphism rs12794714 in the cytochrome CYP2R1 gene and its relationship with the level of CYP2R1 protein in autistic patients"
2. Biotechnologists' Students Scientific Association – "How do genes affect taste? Study of polymorphisms in genes related to the perception of sour and bitter taste (TAS2R38 – rs713598, CA6 – rs2274333, KCNJ2 – rs236514) and dietary habits in the academic community of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and the inhabitants of Olsztyn”
3. Students Scientific Association of Chemists – “AtmoPlast – Study of the influence of atmospheric conditions on the stability of selected polymers and the formation of microplastic particles”
4. Students Scientific Association of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Parasitology “Paradise” – “Parasites and the control of inflammation in the host: extracellular vesicles of the parasitic nematode Anisakis simplex as a regulator of the NLRP3 signaling pathway”
5. Students Scientific Association  “Wild bees” – “The influence of the material used for the construction of hives on the content of microplastic particles in bee products”
6. Students Scientific Association of Analytics and Public Management – “Theoretical and empirical determinants of social and political participation of young people”
7. Students Scientific Association of Linguistics in Business – “The image of old and contemporary Kortowo in linguistic and cultural terms”
8. Students Scientific Association of Mobile Robots – “Car simulator using Capstan Drive”

All Students Scientific Associations operating at UWM in the following categories can apply for the Student Rector’s Grant:

• field of humanities, field of social sciences, field of theological sciences, field of art;
• field of agricultural sciences, field of exact and natural sciences;
• field of engineering and technical sciences;
• field of medical sciences and health sciences.

The following projects are financed:

• construction – projects resulting in constructions;
• research – projects that result in research results, which constitute material for preparing a scientific paper;
• artistic – exhibitions, concerts, preparation for participation in competitions; festivals and other events of high artistic rank,
• educational – experiments, scientific shows.
